As if the macarons and ice cream weren't enough, my salted caramel frenzy has now spilled over to rice krispie treats. I just couldn't help it.
My kitchen is no stranger to the rice krispie treat, but I usually go with a slightly salted, browned butter variety. Perfectly delicious, no need for modification. So, naturally, I modified it.

Upon hearing of my plans to do this, the Help plaintively stared at the pan and asked how many needed to be set aside, so that he could plan his annihilation accordingly.

Salted Caramel Rice Krispie Treats
Prepare the salted caramel sauce, and set aside 1/2 cup.
Grease a 9x13 pan and set aside.
In a large pot, melt the butter completely, then add marshmallows. Stir until fully combined, and marshmallows are completely melted.
Add salted caramel sauce and thoroughly combine with melted marshmallow mixture.
Pour Rice Krispies cereal into pot, and quickly stir until all pieces of cereal are evenly coated.
Press cereal-marshmallow mixture into the 9x13 pan, and make sure it is compactly packed together. Sprinkle desired amount of sea salt on top. Allow to cool and set for 30 minutes, slice, and serve. Enjoy!
